JESUS himself is the word of God
John 1:14-18 ‘The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth'(which is Jesus)
Mathew 4:4 ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. ‘
Just like is mother feeds her child with food.
A teacher feeds with information
Devil feeds with false doctrine.
Jesus feeds our soul with spiritual truth using the bible , which is the word of God.
Those who do not feed on the word of God are liken to be spiritually dead.
Jn 6: 53 ‘Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you’.
HOW DO I FEED ON GOD WORD
- Hear It (Roman 10:17) ‘Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ‘.
- Read It ( Mathew 19:4) ‘He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female‘.
- Study It ( Ezra 7:10) ‘For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel’.
- memorize It ( Ps 119:11) ‘ I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you’.
- Meditate on it ( Ps 1:2) ‘but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night’.
BENEFITS OF FEEDING ON GODS WORD
1 Peter 2:2 “Like new born babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation”
As you feed on the Word of God, it gets in you and when it does, healing, strength, wisdom and life comes out of the Word and goes into you. Peter said we should desire God’s Word so we can grow.
Word of God gives guidance
It brings healing
It gives deliverance.
It brings salvation
It bring peace
It gives us power and dominion.
